Jacobs Creek

Jacob’s Creek  -  Teal 22

This 1978 built river/estuary cruiser is for sale.

Jacob’s Creek is in need of some work, but not too much and not above the capabilities of a good DIYer.

She is built of GRP, is 22’ long and appears to be a solid hull, with a reconditioned Ford ‘Watermoter’ engine, fitted in April 2011 and not used afloat since.   Transmission is via an Enfield Z drive.

This is a cheap little boat, ideal for rivers and sheltered waters cruising/fishing, and would sail away today, or without too much trouble or time, be titivated to a good standard.

Jacob’s Creek stands ashore at Cuxton.

£3,000 ono

Gay Duckling was built in 1962 to Lloyds 100A1 standard, by Porter and Haylett of Wroxham.  She is built of iroko on Oak and cascover sheathed from new with mahogany fitted interior.

She has been fitted with a Perkins 4 cylinder diesel engine.

Sails, consisting of main, jib, genoa no 1, mizzen and cruising chute are all reportedly of serviceable quality.

Gay Duckling has the usual navigational instruments; steering compass, log, echo sounder, VHF radio MLR plotter and an autopilot.

This Peter Duck, a very sought after type of craft which is seakindly , stands up to a blow, and is even sufficiently roomy as a liveaboard, needs some work to bring her up to scratch, but is a sound, solid craft that is priced very realistically.

Nils is a pretty, steel yacht, 25’ 10” overall, and built in 1961 by Clipper Marine in Holland, to a Lemstra design.  She draws 5’ and displaces a little over 5 tons, but gives a maximum of 6’ 8” headroom in the saloon.

She has been surveyed regularly over the past 15 years, the latest one being in 2009 when she was sounded and found, apart from two areas of thin plating which have been replaced, to be very sound.  Since that remedial work was done, she has not been relaunched.

The rig is aluminium, and ‘Nil’ has a full sail wardrobe, all of which are in either good or very good condition.

Auxiliary propulsion is by way of a SABB 10 hp diesel engine driving a shaft and variable pitch propellor.
